 Welcome

This book, and future books in the series, is the realization of a dream.  I have always been a strong advocate for building self-esteem in children.  I have seen so many adults not reach their potential because of low self-esteem that was developed as a child.  This series of books has seemed to "take on a life of its own" and appeals to adults as well as children.

As a former elementary teacher and corporate trainer of adults I find that people do not always listen to what we say...but will "listen to a dog!"  In my research for this series I have interviewed many children ages four to twelve.  I wanted to see what issues they are dealing with and concerns they have in developing self-confidence and a strong feeling of positive self-esteem.

I have also interviewed parents and grandparents of these same age groups. I invite you to "take a walk" with YolandaBaby through the website to meet the real YolandaBaby greyhound dog and view sample pages from the new book, "YolandaBaby: A Pooch Finds Her Purpose".

You can also meet me, the author, meet the illustrator and see where I will be reading or speaking to groups and doing book signings.  We invite your feedback.

"Quotes for Kids"

from YolandaBaby and JoAnn

Hi Kids!  Here it is already back to school.  Jo Ann and I have four tips for you to keep you safe and healthy.

1 - Always be with a buddy.  It is safer to play with friends, walk to and from school with friends.  If you get hurt there is someone there to help you.

2 - Be sure that your parents know where you are and whoyou are with.  Learn your phone number and be sure you know the numbers of where your parents are working.

3 - It is flu time . be sure to wash your hands often.  Every time you use the bathroom, when you come in from playing outside and before you eat.

4 - Be careful what you eat.  Drink juices instead of soda, fruit and vegetables instead of fatty, salty, or sweet snacks.   Take your vitamins every day.

If you follow these four tips you will be healthier and safer.  That's what we want for you.  Have a good school year and we'll have some new tips for you in a month or so.
